Staking out our house....

We had some people looking at our house today from 1-2pm. So, after church, David and I went to eat, went to Office Depot, and then got the car washed and it was a little before 1pm. We went to our house and went around the neighborhood the long way and parked so we could see our house. We like to do this so that when the people leave we can go ahead and go home. The real estate lady was just pulling up when we got there, so it was perfect. If we are late, then we can never be sure if they've come and gone, or haven't come yet, so we end up waiting the entire time. So, we are staking out our house and Cosette asks what we are doing. We tell her that people are looking at our house so we are waiting for them to be done. After a few minutes she says, "Are we hiding?"

Well...

Kind of...

Work...

Ah, well, it was nice while it lasted. Well, it actually wasn't nice. It was torturous! There really was only 1 days worth of work there. I finally had to tell my boss that. It ended up being a good conversation even though I stumbled around a bit getting started. He said he completely understood and could tell I was feeling that way. He is going to see if his second choice interviewee wants the job and if not, he may use me for a few weeks on like Mondays, maybe Tuesdays. We'll see. He paid me as a contractor since I didn't stay long, so the money was better and we don't have to report it because it is definitely under the limit. So, David and I have decided that I will find a whole bunch of small companies to do the books for like I do at David's office. That way I can set my own schedule, go in and do my thing, leave when I am done, charge a flat rate so I am not punished for being a fast worker, and not have to wait on other people to give me something to do.

Dedicated to Amber

I think my daughter may be OCD! When Daddy leaves in the morning, she has this list of things she has to do or say to him. If she misses something, I usually hear about it while I am in the shower and she comes in crying crocodile tears that she didn't tell Daddy goodbye, or that she loves him, or that she will see him later, or she didn't touch his face (cheeks), give him a kiss, or give him a hug. If any one of these things got missed it is the end of the world! Tonight, I said goodnight to her first and kissed her and all that, then it was Daddy's turn. I went downstairs to clean the kitchen, and when he came down he was told to tell me that she loves me.

So cute! But, oh my!!! What is this going to be like when she is older! I try to let her know that everything will be fine if we miss something. I remember doing the same things when I was little, but I finally had to tell myself, and keep telling myself, that God is in control and that He doesn't let things happen just because I took 2 steps to get somewhere instead of 3. I hope I can instill this into her as well.

Ah, parenting....
